How we protect your records

Your files are encrypted while they travel to us and while they sit on our servers. Your files are tied to your account.

We use your records to get your claim paperwork ready. We do not sell them. We do not use them to train AI models.

We keep your records until you delete them. Delete one file or everything, any time, from Settings. When you delete everything, your files and the facts we pulled from them are removed right away. Your sign-in and your paid access stay, so you can come back.

AVA is not a doctor or a health plan. We built it to line up with the safeguards HIPAA asks of them anyway. That is a design goal we hold ourselves to, not a certification.

Nothing leaves AVA for VA. You download your packet and file it yourself, on VA.gov or with a free VSO.

Before a page goes to the AI model that reads it, we mask identifiers such as Social Security numbers, phone numbers and addresses where we can. Your name and date of birth stay so the drafts are yours.

When you ask support for help, they can see what happened to your files (dates, counts, whether a step finished). They do not read your pages to answer a support question unless you ask. To fix a fault in how a page was read, the owner may look at how that page was read.
